About the Artist

Where it all started

Ever since a young boy I've always found myself to be hard working, loving, and artistically gifted. Working hard comes from my dad as I watched him build our house, work full time, and still find time to play with his 3 boys. Loving was a natural part of our family as we raised many animals and bred chocolate lab dogs. My artistically gifted mind comes from my mother; a talented stained glass artist with a giving heart. She was a spiritually connected Reiki master healer with a life goal to simply help others.

I began creating custom lampwork glass beads at age 14 as a young apprentice. After practicing for 6 years, I finally earned my title of glass master. Taking my own direction, I left the nest of apprenticeship and began creating art on my own.

After a long year of being on my own, something happened that changed my life.  My biggest supporter in life passed away, my mother. She will always and forever be close to my heart, especially now that i have created these beads of a lifetime.

I intend to carry on my parent's traits of working hard, loving life, and artistically helping others. I now understand how difficult the loss of a loved one is to endure. My life goal is to help ease the pain with a gentle beautiful glass bead.

Beads of a Lifetime was created in loving memory of Bethanny Smith.
